Sign in & scan a QR
Sign in once, then let each machine's code take you straight to the right project.
EveryoneYou sign in to the Edmund app with the account your administrator set up for you. Day to day, the fastest way to the right machine is to scan its QR code, which opens that machine’s project directly. Once you’ve reached the project, see Your first answer for asking your first question.
Sign in
Open the Edmund app. On a phone, that’s the browser bookmark or app icon your administrator pointed you to.
Enter your account details. Use the email and password set up for you. After the first time, the device usually stays signed in.
Land in Edmund. You arrive at your projects. From here you can scan a code or open Chat and pick a project.
Scan a machine’s QR code
Most machines carry a printed QR code. Point your phone camera at it and Edmund opens that machine’s project directly, so you don’t have to find it in a list. If you open Chat without scanning, Edmund asks you to pick the project first.
If you scan while signed out
Scanning still works when you’re not signed in. Edmund asks you to sign in first, then takes you to the project the code pointed to, so you end up in the right place either way.
Shared shop-floor devices
On a device that several people use, the person signed in might not be you. Open the account menu to check — it shows the signed-in name and email. If it isn’t you, sign out and sign back in with your own account.
Chats are tied to whoever is signed in. If you ask under someone else’s account on a shared device, your questions and answers land in their history, not yours. Check the account menu before you start.
